The four star colonial style Rock Hotel was built in 1932 by the Marquis of Bute, and still offers standards of service from that bygone era.
The Rock offers 104 comfortable bedrooms which include a suites, junior suites and penthouses with all rooms having magnificent views across the Bay of Gibraltar, the Spanish mainland and the Rif Mountains of Morocco. All of the accommodation comes well equipped with mini-bars, luxurious bathrobes, welcome decanters of scotch and sherry, trouser presses, fully remote controlled air-conditioning and heating, satellite television and radio as well as facilities to make fresh ground coffee. There are even find lollipops by the bedside and ducks in the bathroom. Most of the rooms have balconies and the suites and penthouses also have CD players.
The main restaurant enjoys panoramic views across Gibraltar Bay the Spanish mainland and Morocco. The hotel features a daily changing "house menu" as well as a full seasonally changing à la Carte selection. There is also an extensive range of conference, banqueting and private dining menus which can be adapted to suit all budgets. The restaurant was awarded two dining awards in 2006 and in 2007 gained a prestigious AA rosette.
